Medicine Hat, Alberta is set to host the 4th annual Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival from May 22-25, 2025. This free ,family friendly event promises vibrant skies filled with up to 30 hot air balloons, community activities, and shared commitment to mental wellness.
Daily Balloon Flights
Each day begins with a 6:00 am flight ( weather permitting). Flight locations will be announced approximately an hour before takeoff on the festival's social media channels.
Balloon Glow Events
Experience the magic of the Balloon glow events on Friday May 23 and Saturday May 24 at Kin Coulee Park. At dusk ( around 8:30 pm), balloons will be tethered and illuminated, creating a mesmerizing display. Enjoy food trucks, entertainment, and community spirit during these evenings.
Community Day- Saturday May 24
Saturday is packed with activities in downtown Medicine Hat.
9:30 am : Hues for Humanity Colour Run starting at the Medicine Hat Tourism Center.
11:00 am - 3:00 pm : Art party and yoga sessions at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre.
11:00 am - 4:00 pm : Rise Up Market at the Medicine Hat Public Library.
11:00 am - 4:00 pm : Food trucks at Towne Square
12:00 pm & 3:00 pm : Free screenings of the Inside Out and Inside Out 2 at the Monarch Theatre ( concession is cash only).
The Sunshine Trolley will shuttle attendees between Athletic Park and various downtown locations from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, courtesy of the Medicine Hat Mavericks.
